Such an adorable dog. Want to own it? Be ready to shell out $1,513,417 ! ( I don’t even have the guts to convert that to rupees) This 11-month-old red Tibetan mastiff sold by breeder Lu Liang to a Chinese multi-millionaire in March 2011, is the world’s costliest canine.

The outer frame is adorned with 72 brilliant round cut 1 carat IF Flawless diamonds and a mix of sunstone & amethyst, while the inner frame is made of hand sewn Alligator skin. This comes at a very very reasonable price of $2.27 million.

Instead, the coffee beans are eaten and defecated by an animal called the Asian palm civet (which looks like a combination of a bat & a rat – just saying), the feces are collected, and coffee is processed from it. Some critics claim more generally that Kopi Luwak is simply bad coffee, purchased for novelty rather than taste.

Now you must be wondering – how expensive can water get? Turns out, very. The most expensive bottle of water sold at auction was for $774,000 pesos, which is equivalent to $60,000 US (£39,357). The auction was organised by Plan3t Foundation A.C. in Mexico on 4th March 2010. The glass bottle is covered in 24-karat gold and is based on artwork by the late Italian artist Amedeo Clemente Modigliani. The funds raised from the auction were donated to the foundation to battle global warming.

Try this: Serendipity 3 Restaurant on East 60th Street, New York serves a dessert called Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, which is priced at a very steep $25,000. It is a mixture of 28 different cocoas and milk, infused with five grams of edible 23-karat gold, and is served in a goblet lined with edible gold. The base of the goblet is an 18-karat gold bracelet with 1 carat of white diamonds. The dessert is eaten with a gold spoon, decorated with white and chocolate-colored diamonds, which can also be taken home. This uneconomical dessert – which will cost an arm, leg & a few different body parts for most people- was declared the world’s most expensive dessert by Guinness World Records.
