‘The Dire Straits Experience’ Rocked India At 100 Pipers ‘Play For A Cause’, Full 80s Style

British rock band that rocked through the 80s like a boss were in India last weekend, and Bengaluru-Gurugram got ‘The Dire Straits Experience’. And believe me when I say this, the fans were teleported to the golden era of the 80s-90s.

Band members Chris White (sax, flute, percussion, vocals), Chris Whitten (drums), Terence Reis (lead vocals and guitar), Tim Walters (vocals and guitar), Simon Carter (piano, organ and keyboards), Danny Schogger (piano, organ and keyboards) and Paul Geary (vocals and bass Guitar) were in India for 100 Pipers ‘Play for a Cause’ campaign.

The proceeds from the initiative will be used to provide sustainable drinking water to villagers in Rajasthan. It will help in the construction of water conservation structures that in turn would help to ensure that better quality of water is available for drinking, sanitation, irrigation and livestock. And, that will help in increase of the agricultural output, thereby enhancing the income of the community members.

The night was a glorious one leaving fans mesmerised. Have a dekko.

10. Fans wanted them to come back soon. We can totally understand that feeling.

Before coming to India, Chris White said in a statement,

“India has always been on our list and we are very excited to play in India. Our 2 city tour in India, in Gurugram and Bengaluru, is to support the 100 Pipers “Play for a cause” Initiative to provide water to villagers in Rajasthan. The power of music is incredible and it brings together people across nations and cultures. We are happy to become a part of this great event which is bringing music and artists together to make a difference to the society.”

Victor Hugo once said, “Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent.” After watching this spectacular band perform at the 100 Pipers Play For A Cause event, I can completely resonate with that. May we get to see them very soon again, mesmerising another evening with their kickass music.
