Mom Was Told To Give-Up Her Son With Special Needs Instead She Raised Him To Go To Harvard!

There is always someone who doesn’t believe the magic you can create, the mountains you can climb and how bright you can shine.

But if you commit yourself to something, then you can prove all those people wrong. While the road isn’t easy, so here am I; with some inspiration that will come in handy. So go ahead and prove them wrong, alright?

Meet Ding Ding and his mother Zou Hongyan from Hubei, China. This is their Harvard selfie! Ding is 29 years old and is a very special. When Ding was born in 1988. There were many birth complications. As a result he had cerebral palsy.

Doctors in Hubei, said the child had no future. They said his condition was so bad that he would live a long, worthless life.

 

Zou’s husband shared the same views. He wanted Zou to give him up, but she wasn’t going to give up on her son. She divorced her husband and made it her life’s mission to raise Ding, with love and care.

Zou worked 3 odd jobs to support Ding Ding. She took care of him, she taught him everything. She brought brain-boosting games for her son, to help him formulate the foundation of his intelligence. She says –

“I didn’t want him to feel ashamed about these physical problems. Because he had inferior abilities in many areas, I was quite strict on him to work hard to catch up where he had difficulties.”

 

Because of his mother’s hard work, Ding Ding today is a Peking University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences and engineering. He just got into Harvard as a Law student.

It’s amazing what a little faith can do. Zou put all her faith and love to raise Ding Ding and now all those who said she should give him up; know that it was a worthless advice.
