Designer Who Got Backlash For Pairing A Hijab With Saree Had A Befitting Reply For Haters

In today’s world, it is a daunting task to even walk around without offending a person. The creative liberty gets hindered because we seem to be walking on a path laid with broken glass.

Everyday we hear about a certain censor board cutting scenes in a movie because, the bhoot has to leave the country when Hanuman Chalisa is sung or a hero cannot jump on a religious structure. Colours also have been given an association with religion as well, saffron for Hinduism and green for Islam.

And if that wasn’t enough, clothes have got their own niche too and it’s apparently a ‘disregard’ to combine a hijab with a saree.

British-Indian designer Ayush Kejriwal, took the creative liberty and in his very first attempt, tried to mix a saree with a breathtaking hijab.

His project is beautiful and this picture stands proof. But it did not go down well with a lot of people and he was mercilessly trolled.

HIJABS ARE VERY STYLISH! #hijabandasaree This is a sneak peek from my latest shoot. Many of my clients proudly wear a Hijab and always ask me questions about styling it with #sarees. So I thought why don't I style a look with a hijab and showcase how I would go about styling a #hijabandasaree together. Now please note : I have never worked with a hijab before so technically this may not be perfect but that's not the point. The idea was to style a look with a hijab and this is my take on it. But Ayush did not let hate get to him. He stood by his creation and gave a befitting reply to a troll who thought he could belittle him or his art in any way.

“Religion should empower and not hinder.” – This line by Ayush says what we all should live by. The whole point of religion is to be peaceful and believe in a higher power. If religion has become the cause of hate, then there must be something very wrong that we have done.
