Yoga Classes Will Be A Must For All Officers In Delhi Police Station. A Good Initiative!

Yoga is the unsurpassed medium for relieving our stress and ensuring that we are healthy. Time and again, the benefits of yoga has been emphasized.

Now, there’s a good news for Delhi police officers. Yoga classes will be made mandatory for them so that the high stress resulting from their demanding jobs alleviates.

The move was discussed at length and the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi wants it to be implemented across all police stations.

According to sources, Baba Ramdev might be the main trainer; visiting every police station in small time intervals.

Which makes sense because Baba Ramdev is synonymous with yoga. Also, instructors will be hired who have minimum two years of experience and who have a degree or diploma in Yoga with minimum 55 % marks.

A senior Delhi police official said, “If he agrees, we will try and keep him for special occasions.”

The Ministry Of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) sent a letter to the police stations urging them to participate in Yoga sessions.

Narendra Modi went through this scheme and expressed his desire to make this move mandatory.

It will enhance the social health and help manage the working stress and skill development of police personnel.

But, right before the move is implemented, the Delhi police officers are already finding loopholes in the scheme.

“Normally, a day of police station staff starts very early. Investigating officers (IO) have to attend court proceedings. It will be very tough for police station staff to attend yoga classes regularly.”

Well, this is a welcome change for all police stations.

I really hope after Delhi, it’s made mandatory for all police stations. 🙂
