Dad’s Sassy Letter To A School For Its Sexist Policy Is Garnering Internet Praises. *claps*

Dad-Sassy-Letter-Sexist-School

The level of savagery (verbal, guys) that our parents have is unmatched and can never be levelled up, in my humble opinion. Uh, cuz the school we are admitted to, they are the helmers there.

We’ve seen their Savage 101 levels in the past, too. Remember how that uber-sassy mom gave it back to the boy who snapped open her daughter’s bra at school? Or another mom who wrote a supremely to her daughter’s Principal, asking him to take her shopping keeping “their” dress code in mind? Yeah!

There’s another parent who has won the internet’s heart by writing a letter to the school, slamming their sexist policy. Hailing from a small village of Wongarbon, Australia, about 381 km north-west of Sydney, Mr. Stephen Callaghan brought to light a sexist tradition followed at his daughter, Ruby’s school.

He wrote a letter (read: sassy and full of sarcasm) to Dubbo West Public School, asking for an explanation for the gender-segregated field trips practiced there.

“Dear Principal,

I must draw your attention to a serious incident which occurred yesterday at your school where my daughter Ruby is a year 6 student.

When Ruby left for school yesterday it was 2017 but when she returned home in the afternoon she was from 1968.

I know this to be the case as Ruby informed me that the “girls” in Year 6 would be attending the school library to get their hair and make-up done on Monday afternoon while the “boys” are going to Bunnings.

Are you able to search the school buildings for a rip in the space-time continuum? Perhaps there is a faulty Flux Capacitor hidden away in the girls toilet block?

I look forward to this being rectified and my daughter and others girls at the school being returned to this millenium where schools activities are not divided among gender lives.

Sincerely,
Stephen Callaghan”

He used time-travel scenario and nailed it.

He says, she specifically asked the teachers if she could go to Bunnings instead and was told it was only for the boys. But, the spokesperson stated that any student can choose either of the activity.

Soon, Tweeple started lauding for the dad’s letter and he was receiving applause from Twitterverse.

Some got angry at the education system.

Some shared their own discrimination stories.

There were logical comments too.

One said, both boys and girls should learn important skills. Agreed!

And, Stephen got oodles of support.

Yeah, even we are waiting.

Mr. Callaghan told Bored Panda,

“My reaction was one of disappointment. I feel the school has a responsibility to break down these gender divisions. My wife and I wish give our daughters the confidence to speak up when they feel they are being discriminated against because they are female.”

He even thanked the good souls of the internet.

The world’s battling gender discrimination in ways it has never before and people at voicing their opinion more openly than they ever did. But, if the place where those unbiased values are expected to be inculcated keep their regressive and sexist ways alive, do you think we’ll ever be able to overcome gender inequality?
