#swolematesunday -394👇lbs since 1/1/16! This man has stuck by my side through thick & thin. @discoveringdanny has loved me no matter my size and never asked me to change. He treats me the same way at 179lbs that he treated me at 485lbs. When we got married we made vows to low eachother for better for worse through sickness and in health until death do us part. ❤ We meant those words and we are so happy for this new life we are living. I know what you’re thinking. “WHAT? Is that really the same two people in both pictures?” Yep, you bet! It is indeed Alexis, or as she prefers, Lexi, and her high school sweetheart who she’s been with for 10 years, Danny.

The couple has come a long way, from being dangerously overweight to knocking a combined 170 kg by just eating healthy and exercising and the sheer strength of will power!

Lexi and Danny wanted to be parents but Lexi’s obesity was a hurdle that they had to surmount before they could plan for a child. And thus began their flab to fit transformation journey!

Let me be your guide through their inspiration-laden story!

Lexi had already begun working on herself, by counting her calorie consumption and working out. And last year, on their yearly vacation, Danny proposed!

Lexi was a 485 lbs, which is roughly 220 kg, but Danny loved her anyway, for the person she was. And that was one of the biggest motivating factors for her!

#waybackwednesday to the most awkward photoshoot of my life with my swolemate @dannyreed5. I'm a lucky girl he loved me no matter what size & never asked me to change. We received a free engagement shoot & shyly agreed to do it. When we arrived the other couple was the complete opposite of us – perfect model couple & not plus size. I had bought the cutest dress from my favorite plus store, did my hair & makeup, bought a coverup to hide my arms, & had never done a photoshoot before due to my size. I felt gorgeous even at 485lbs, but I was hurt when I could tell it was easier for the photographers to photograph the other couple rather than a plus size couple. Never stop believing in yourself, you are capable of so much more than you know. ❤ You are worthy of people that love you, and think the world of you – no matter what size. ———————————————————————————- Fedup or have too much fun this summer & want to lose weight with me? Despite wanting to shed the extra flab, Lexi remained amazingly body positive. She loved her body!

The goal was always to be healthy, not size zero. And Lexi was lucky to have found a life partner who pushed her towards being healthy instead of conforming to unrealistic body expectations.

#throwbackthursday to when I married my #swolemate! @dannyreed5 loved me at 485lbs & never once asked me to change. Ofcourse he wanted me to be healthy, but he never pushed & that's why when I decided to change – we went on this journey together. To live a healthier longer life together & to be able to be parents one day was a great motivator. Wedding dress shopping for a size 34W was one of the worst experiences for me, and even though I was heavy – I still felt beautiful on my wedding day. It was one of the best days of my life & I wouldn't change a single thing. Surround yourself with those who lift you higher & see your soul, not just your looks. ❤ #weightloss #wedding #marriage #plussize #gym #fitchicks #fitcouple #weightloss #weightlossjourney #fit #fitness #effyourbeautystandards #plussize #obesetobeast #fattofit #indiana #goals #diet #love #transform #extremeweightloss #fitfam #weightlosstransformation #selflove #dietbet #husband #life

“Surround yourself with those who lift you higher and see your soul, not just your looks.”

The best part about Lexi’s battle against her weight was that she wasn’t alone. Danny, her husband now, wasn’t just a passive motivator but an active co-participant in her efforts.

He accepted that he too needed to achieve a healthy weight goal and joined his wife at the gym! Who better than your better half to give you that much needed push!

Tonight was a reminder of why @dannyreed5 is my forever swolemate & some days you just need someone to push you. I got off of work & I was dragging. We were so slammed today I felt mentally exhausted & sluggish. I was pouting almost, but he was excited for the gym so I put on my game face. I usually do 30-60 mins on the crossramp & his longest has always been 45 mins. I started feeling better after 30 mins & told him to keep going. Once we hit 45 minutes in he kept going & so did I for a total of 60 minutes tonight. Some days it's just therapy & you never regret a workout. We all have bad days, but you must keep going. Props to this guy for beating his record! #fit #fitfam #goals #weightloss #fitcouple #swolemate #fattofit #obesetobeast #health #diet #fitspo #fitspiration #anytimefitness

Of course, cutting back the carbs would’ve been hard but diet food made with loads of love can conquer all! For Lexi and Danny, it was all about eating more proteins and less carbs and they managed it beautifully.

The couple religiously chronicled their hard work through gym selfies and videos. By mid-year, they’d shed some phenomenal amount of weight and were positively glowing!

But even amidst all this, Lexi continued to show immense love for her body, lovingly supported by Danny, of course!

The couple that works out together, takes gym selfies together!

35 mins of cardio on crossramp for me tonight and then a little lifting with @dannyreed5 . Took this photo & i just keep staring at it. Is that me? I almost look skinny. I mean from 485lbs to 225lbs – this is skinny. I never really realize how much smaller I am until I see a picture or question if I can fit in a small booth. My mind is still trying to catch up! Always love your body & be proud of how far you've come no matter what size. ❤ #weightloss #fit #fattofit #progress #progressnotperfection #swolemate #fitcouple #anytimefitness #gym #workout #mealprep #fitspo #selflove #selfimprovement #noexuses #obesetobeast #fatgirlfedupsdietbet #dietbet #lift #cardio #muscles #starttoday #provethemwrong #fitspire #weightlossjourney #weightlosstransformation

What a lot of people don’t understand is that even if you’re inching closer to the body of your dreams, there are still so many self-image issues that you have to conquer. Like wearing a swim suit for the first time!

View this post on Instagram

Story/vulnerability post: Picture on the left was from a pool party. I was standing on the side talking to people swimming. From the girl who loved swimming, but watched at the pool party due to her size – to the girl who fought to confidently wear a bathing suit. -273lbs down with diet/exercise! I shared this the other day but wanted to again since summer is upon us & I had others tell me it helped them ❤ – I debated posting my bathing suit picture for a few days, but decided it's important. I want to be open, honest, and real with you guys. To do that I know sometimes I also have to be vulnerable. I finally went bathing suit shopping and felt so cute in this suit. When I came out of the dressing room I was obviously insecure about my legs. I have bad veins in my legs from being overweight for so long. No pain or anything, but you can see them. My arms also do have some loose skin. The loved one I was with told me I may have to get a cover up for my suit or wear something over my legs. Why? Why should I have to cover a body I've worked my ass off for? Why should I hide just because I do have flaws and I'm not a size 0? All bodies are beach bodies, and I'm not covering up. This summer I challenge you to love yourself. Rock that bathing suit you worked so hard to wear, & don't let anyone make you feel less just because you're not perfect. And I've said it a million times, but I'll say it again – skin is just skin. I'd rather be healthy with a ton of loose skin than obese on my deathbed. Dont let something so small stop you from changing your life. I'm still loosing and adding more weights when we get back from Vegas so who knows. Anyways, this beach body is in progress & I am now the proud owner of this suit from @jcpenney #weightloss #goals #fit #fitfam #fitness #fitspo #fitspire #plussize #jcpenney #fashion #curves #thickfit #fattofit #obesetobeast #swim #swimsuit #obesetobeast #goals #progress #provethemwrong #diet #countingcalories #weightlossjourney #fit #gym #fitness #motivation #effyourbeautystandards #loveyourself #selflove #strong #gymlife #swim #extremeweightloss

One of the biggest regrets a woman can have is that years after her wedding, she doesn’t fit in her wedding dress anymore! But for Lexi, it was the biggest, happiest milestone!

View this post on Instagram

#tbt to trying my wedding dress on after losing 270lbs & happy endings! My name is Lexi & when I got married I wore a size 34 dress & weighed 485lbs. Dress shopping is supposed to be something every bride enjoys, and for me it was miserable. I couldnt find anything to fit me, people were mean, and I questioned just giving up & buying a online casual dress from @lanebryant. I always dreamed of feeling like a princess on my wedding day. Thankfully after driving 4+ hours two different times I found my dress & bought it off the rack. My dress was tight, so the fact that i'm now swimmimg in it is still so crazy to me. I felt beautiful in my wedding dress, and it was the best day of my life — no matter what size! I did however feel ashamed after when I went on my honeymoon & couldnt even walk down the beach with @dannyreed5 due to my weight. We were on a shell tour and the good shells were supposed to be further down the beach. I sat down in the sand while my husband walked down the beach alone. I felt so disappointed in myself. 25 years old and I was a prisoner in my own body, and sittng on the sidelines of my own life. That was one of the many reasons I decided to change. I made a decision to change my life, and for that reason I am now free. Change your mind, change your life. You deserve a life not sitting on the sidelines, start today! Swipe to see us going back to that same Shell tour & RUNNING. And finally, at the end of a crazy year full of exertion and healthy eating, Lexi and Danny went from flab to fit and fab! What a transformation!

Looks like the Before & After story of your dreams, doesn’t it?

#motivationmonday -394lbs 👇 combined since we set a New Years Resolution 1/1/2016. We were fedup with spending or nights sitting on the couch binge watching Netflix and mindlessly eating. Our bestfriend challenged us to the first 30 days of no eating out, no cheat meals, no alcohol or soda, and working out for 30 minutes five times a week. We took the challenge, completed it 100%, and that first month of our journey our lives changed. We realized it wasn't a diet, but a lifestyle change. We focused on small changes and they added up to big results. We focused on each day instead of how far we had to go. Instead of eating out like we did daily we meal prepped, learned daily about nutrition labels/cooking, ans we also took the foods we loved and made healthy versions. This helped us not feel deprived and control temptations. We also fell in love with taking care of ourselves and our new life together. This journey helped bring us closer together and stronger than ever. #waybackwednesday to 485lbs & @dannyreed5 proposing to me. He proposed to me at sunset on Clearwater beach after we'd been dating for 7 years (now 10) & I cried like a baby. I was completely caught off guard & had dreamed of the proposal for a long time. He told me I was his best friend and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, and ofcourse I quickly said yes in between tears. He planned on spending the rest of his life with 485lb me despite my size or all the things we couldn't do together as a couple due to my weight. I am forever grateful for the way he's loved me no matter what size & never asked me to change. He treated me the same exact way when I was heavy that he does not that I'm healthy. When I agreed to be his wife I agreed to spending the rest of my life with him and i'm so glad we have lost 392lbs together & gained many years to do just that. ❤ PS we visited the same beach & he's now holding a seashell, hehe. #beach #proposal #love #marriage #engagement #swolemates #diet #extremeweightloss #plussize #florida #ocean #sunset #weightloss #weightlosstransformation #weightlossjourney #transform #couplegoals #relationshipgoals #love #gym #instafit #instagood #effyourbeautystandardards #fattofit #obesetobeast

But wait, just because they’ve achieved their goal weights doesn’t mean the hustle has to stop! They’re still going at it!

Alexis and Dany’s flab to fit story is an inspiration, sure. But more than being just another transformation tale, it is all about loving yourself and the other person for who they are.

@dannyreed5 has played alot of roles: boyfriend, prom date, husband, swolemate, best friend, soul mate, and the love on my life. Today we celebrated our 2 year anniversary 392lbs lost combined! The fact that we were able to do anything we wanted today without our weight limiting us is an amazing feeling. This life with him by my side will never get old. ❤ 10 years together & 2 years being married – yet it feels like just the beginning daily. Shoutout to the man who has made me feel beautiful no matter what size, and always pushed me to be the best version of myself. He saw who I could before I even did. Theres not enough words I could say to thank him for his roles in my life – I'm forever grateful. #love #husband #fitcouple #wedding #prom #dress #plussize #love #fitspo #obesetobeast #fattofit #fitfam #gym #thickfit #gymlife #workout #couple #couplegoals #diet #transformation #weightloss #weightlossjourney #diet #dietbet #fatgirlfedupsdietbet
