The Mallika Dua-Akshay Kumar row has taken over the social media. Of course, there are varied opinions about who said what to whom, but nothing takes away from the fact that everyone is talking about it, irrespective of the side they are on.
Talking of sides, everything said and done, nobody is a fan of the bashing brigade. The same one, ‘fans” you may say, who thought it is their moral obligation to troll and slam Mallika and father, Vinod Dua because they dared to ask and answer pertinent questions about workplace behaviour.
Yes, Mallika did try to explain her side of the things with a thought-provoking column, including why her father’s post didn’t meet Facebook’s community standards but keyboard warriors, chose to bash her anyway, stating that she has no right to opine just because she plays sexually un-abashed characters.

But, fortunately, I’m not here to be the messenger of hate-speech. Rather, I’m here to show you the side of things I’m sure you’ll be glad to see.
In the hindsight of the ruckus, comedians are now coming out in the favour and support of Mallika and Twitter is a witness. See for yourself.
1. Sumukhi Suresh had the best reaction.
Oh wonderful. No we troll saying she played a sexually awakened character and thus she “deserves” it. That’s just grand AF. https://t.co/eexhvOdQHP

2. And a gesture that spoke a thousand words!
PS it will be my honour from here and beyond to play @MallikaDua s vagina.

3. Even Kaneez Surka raised her voice.
Im sorry you had to go through this @MallikaDua. It's so uncomfortable and demeaning. No @akshaykumar it's not okay. https://t.co/ES1FVrCvYz
— Kaneez Surka (@kaneezsurka) October 26, 2017
4. WORD.
It's not okay to sexually harass us or say inappropriate things to us because we've played sexually unabashed characters. https://t.co/uZXxiGAlFR

5. Even Tanmay Bhat said it loud and clear!
People trolling @MallikaDua for playing Tander aunty can piss right off.

6. He also had a piece of advice for the hate-mongers.
"She's played a sexually explicit character so she has no right to voice her opinion about harassment" – please, STFU.

7. Rohan Joshi took to Facebook to pose an inevitable argument.
8. Radhika Vaz went a mile to tell Mallika the golden words.
Just don't laugh. Never laugh when something is sexist and unfunny.

9. Anuya said we all wanted to say…
Bravo @MallikaDua, well done girl. Well done. https://t.co/lnArefRNNl

This side or the other, this particular moment will be remembered for the growing spirit of the comedy fraternity in India by all. PERIOD.
