Sumeet Ragahvan’s Wife Gets Masturbated At On Mumbai Streets, Tweets Asking For Help

There have been so many incidents highlighted in the news these days where men have been seen masturbating at women in public. Recently, it was a Delhi student who was a victim to this harassment in a DTC bus. Last year too there were instances highlighted in Mumbai where the man masturbated to a girl in the local train.

In another incident, actor Sumeet Ragahvan took to Twitter to ask for help finding an unidentified man who masturbated in front of his wife, Chinmayee Surve in Vile Parle.

The man sat in his car in broad daylight and masturbated in front of the TV actor. And before she could take action, he drove off. However, she did manage to note the last digits of his car number.

The incident occured near a school which had Summet even more worried because he could have done it to underage kids as well.

The actor spoke to Indian Express and shared his woes on the matter. He said,

“It’s so shocking that miscreants are up for something so disgusting in broad daylight. I was at home when my wife called me frantically.”

They also lodged a police complaint at the local station and also the traffic department.

The Mumbai Police took swift action and replied to his tweet.

Sumeet said that while he was trying to monitor the CCTV footage at the location with the police, Chinmayee was at the police station recording her statement.

Talking about the swift action taken by the authorities, Sumeet said,

“The police team has swiftly taken charge and are on the lookout to identify the car and the driver. They will see the CCTV footages of the road and are also trying to speak here. We just can’t let go such matters and its time we stood up against these perverts.”

 

It’s appalling how often crimes against women are committed in this country. We need to start voicing the harassment and taking action against it now. After all, public transport and public places are a right of every citizen in the country and we should be able to roam them without the fear of sexual assault.

We hope the culprit is found and brought to justice soon.
