The brunt of an evil institute named Child Marriage is known to all. The shameful act has time and again plagued many parts of our country and brought to our notice some of the cruelest profiles of humanity. This terrible incident is just another addition to the loathsome list.
In another shocking case, a student of class 3 had a narrow escape from child marriage after she voiced her family’s treachery of having her fake age on the Aadhar card to her teachers and police officials.
To escape the legal upshot of child marriage, the parents of a 12-year-old girl got her a fake Aadhar card made, wherein her age was increased from 11 years to 18 years.
But, the smart kid narrated the entire incident to her class teacher and asked for help. The teacher then informed it to the school authorities and finally with the help of the police the crime was brought to a standstill.
In an interview with Times of India, Renuka, who is dealing with the case, opened up about the entire incident.
Understanding the sensitivity of the situation, the management got in touch with child helpline. And together with the joint effort of the child helpline and police, the girl was rescued just minutes before the wedding happening at Anupshahr.
The reason behind the heinous attempt comes out as poverty and insecurity.  Here is what S.P. Patel, the local station house officer said,
“The family was marrying off the girl and her sister, who is in her early twenties, at the same time to save on expenses.They are a poor family.”
An age verification report has been asked by the local judicial magistrate, becasue according to him, the girl simply doesn’t look like she is 18.
As for the little girl, she has been asked to live with the teacher until the parents promise to not get her married again. The parents are additionally being counseled upon the same. SHO Patel in a statement recently declared,
“The family is being counselled… If the age verification report proves she is 11, we will begin investigations into the fake Aadhaar card.”
Child marriage is simply nothing lesser than a disgrace both to the law and humanity. We appreciate the efforts displayed by those involved in helping the kid and promising her a free life hereafter.
