4 Out Of 10 Pocket-Friendly Cities In The World Are In India And Bengaluru Tops The List!

A place where cost of living is low is the best place to live in! Well, who wouldn’t agree? Pocket-friendly places simply mean that we have more of money to spend on travelling and indulge in other activities of our choice! Plus, food is cheaper as a result of lower prices and who doesn’t like to devour delicious food which is not sold at skyrocketing prices?

A 2017 report by Economist Intelligence Unit titled ‘Worldwide Cost Of Living 2017‘ reveals that 4 Indian cities are among the top 10 list of cheapest cities to live in on the planet!

So, Bengaluru ranks 3rd and Chennai 6th among the top 10 pocket-friendly cities in the world. Sarita Hunt, Managing Director of Chennai & Coimbatore, JLL India said,

“Affordable transportation, housing, and a multisectoral economy are the primary reasons that make Chennai a relatively cheap place to live.”

 

Mumbai ranks 7th and Delhi 10th. The survey compares 400 individual prices across 160 products and services which include food, clothes, household supplies, etc. The report said,

“India is tipped for rapid expansion as Chinese growth declines, but much of this is driven by its demographic profile.”

The most expensive city title goes to Singapore for the 4th consecutive year and the cheapest city is Almaty, Kazakhstan.

This is a good news for all the city dwellers in Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai. Let’s eat more, live more and spend a little less for all of that!
