After Putting A Ban, Censor Board Approves The Use Of Swear Words In Movies. About Time?

What is obscenity? What are the limits or how much liberty does a filmmaker has when he decides to have violence scene in his movies? And how much is too much? These are some of the questions that our filmmakers tend to grapple with because the Censor Board had come up with a controversial list in February this year, that were not supposed to be included in movies.

Now that rule has changed. Censor Board has now withdrawn the cuss list which in turn gives directors the freedom of film-making.

Films underwent changes and overhauling were carried out subsequently and that too in a systematic way after February rule came out. All the double meaning words, profanities, bloodshed, and violence against women were not getting certification.

This rule didn’t go down well with film-makers because then the content would be regularized.

In a meeting held on Friday 12, the list was asked to be withdrawn.

Keeping with the times the art of film-making has also evolved and has taken a major U-turn. But, isn’t that a medium to tell stories and reach out to people. Who is getting offended in the act?
