CBSE Book Says 36-24-36 Figure Is The Best Shape For Women. What Are We Teaching The Youth?

Kids do not really discriminate from a young age, really. Remember back when we were kids and we had friends regardless of their physical appearance, colour or religion?

Then came a point when it went to crap, and we started choosing friends? It happens due to a lot of factors. Advertisements, movies, and fashion magazines are the usual culprits.

But who could have guessed that a CBSE physical education textbook also subtly body shames women who do NOT have the ‘best’ figure? And that golden figure is – ’36-24-36′

And they did not just stop there. They further added why women ‘are not able to run properly.’

“The bones of hips of females are wider. Knees are slightly apart. Due to this shape females are not able to run properly.”

Now any woman knows that there is no disadvantage in their bodies that is a hindrance to running.

And if you thought this is enough, there’s more such crap here. A sentence also says that the ‘V’ body shape is considered the best in men.

And this is not the first time a textbook has screwed up so badly. Remember the racist picture in a textbook where a dark woman is tagged as ugly and a fair woman is tagged as beautiful.

This is the reason our youth turns out with unrealistic body expectations and not to mention racists.

It is understandable that there are regressive and foolish advertisements about fairness creams because the companies that make the product do not have any integrity or human values whatsoever.

But a national textbook doing the same thing is making people uneducated rather than making them educated.
