Cannes season is here, people and Bollywood fans are waiting for their favourite celebrities to make a statement, yet again at the Red Carpet. This year’s line-up looks pretty cool to us, but before all the shindig begins, we thought of flipping through the pages of Red Carpet looks and jotting down the boldest statements made by the B-Towners.
Over the years, here are our top picks where these Bollywood celebs when all out and wore boldness on their sleeves.
1. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s purple lips
From being a meme to getting applauses from sections of the fashion police, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s purple lips broke the internet. And, secretly ladies wished to own that shade.
2. Sonam Kapoor’s nose ring in that cape saree.

It was 2013, and Sonam Kapoor as a part of her brand was representing Bollywood. And, people just couldn’t stop raving about her huge nose pin and that Anamika Khanna’s cape saree made a lot of heads turn.
3. Sonam’s feathery yellow dress
That Elie Saab yellow ensemble, was bold and meme-worthy (as many tagged it as). But, we just know she wore it with a lot of confidence and still made a statement.
4. Amisha Patel’s anarkali.

The Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai girl’s blue and beige anarkali lehenga was quite praised at the Red Carpet but criticised back home. And, it was a good choice when she wanted to represent Indian culture.

For his Cannes debut during the premiere of The Great Gatsby, Amitabh Bachchan wore a black-sequined jacket which was too bold for his age. But, he still wore it.
7. Vidya Balan in the Sabyasachi Lehenga

She was heavily criticised for her fashion choices on the homefront, and for her choice to opt for that Sabyasachi Lehenga with that jewellery didn’t make things better for her at all.
8. Mallika Sherawat in that thigh-slit lehenga

When talking about Cannes, how can we not talk about Mallika Sherawat’s presence there. The lady in white, wore a really high-slit lehenga with a blouse and posed for the paps at the red carpet. Isn’t that bold enough?
9. Sonam Kapoor’s saree gown

Sonam Kapoor in that Anamika Khanna saree gown made statements and people sort of loved and hated what she wore. For us, it still makes to the list.

Umm, just the fact that he was there.
In addition to all this, we also would say that many celebrities like Freida Pinto, Katrina and Team Masaan‘s debut, Sonam’s cape saree and all were on our minds, too.
