When a crime takes place, your first instinct is to go and report it to a police officer. Right? But what is one supposed to do when the perpetrator itself is a police officer?
Earlier this week, a woman in Bihar’s Nalanda district was physically assaulted and beaten up by an SPO (Special Police Officer) near NH 110 because she was talking to someone on the phone, and that angered him.
He assumed that she was talking to her boyfriend, and took her phone away and started beating her up. He threw her on road and hit her hard, pulled her hair and called her a lot of things.
He branded her as a woman of ‘bad character’ and made really crass statements about her.
While people recorded it on their phones, no one did anything to save the woman.
According to a Daily Bhaskar report, the officer has been fired and an investigation is in place.

It is really a strange world we are living in. The fact that people are not safe anywhere is a matter of huge concern.
