The transition from a completely pampered child to a fully responsible adult takes place in stages for some, but a lot of us are thrown headfirst into the pit and asked to deal with the consequences later. We learn being responsible the hard way, but we learn for sure.
Here are 18 things that everybody faces when they go from zero to full responsibility:
1. At first you think that it’s a joke that you will actually have to do your own work
2. You believe that your role in the world is just partying hard and partying harder
3. You strongly believe that your parents are here to do everything for you
4. They keep telling you to become responsible for your own good but you be like ¯_(ツ)_/¯
5. When you are finally left in the wild (college/work) to learn and be responsible you be like
Because when you had the chance, you never “pulled your socks up”.
6. You learn how to differentiate between a toilet cleaner and a detergent and other such small things
Washing clothes with harpic is not the best idea.
7. Cooking food that tastes bad or is burnt becomes more common than you thought
And then later calling your mom to ask for advice/recipes.
8. You learn that ordering gas cylinder on time is essential
9. You start remembering to pay electricity and Wi-Fi bills on time
After you’ve lived without electricity and phone for two days you definitely will remember it.
10. You learn to keep track of your expenses better
After that one time when you had only 5 rupees in your account and the month was still not over.
11. You learn to put things back in their places because
The next time when you have to use them and you don’t find it in place you will be the one in trouble.
12. You learn small tips and tricks and time saving techniques
*takes 2 hours to cut vegetables* *too tired to cook dinner after that* *orders food and cries over expenses*
13. Your bargaining skill automatically get better with time
Because after all who wants to be cheated on the price of something every time you go to the market.
14. You learn to maintain your house in a clean state
15. You have to keep checking all your groceries and other stuff at home is updated
*goes to shampoo oiled hair on a Monday morning* *sees that shampoo is over*
16. And you have to do a lot of household chores on your own
Which obviously you don’t do very well.
17. Even if you do hire a maid to do your work you have to keep tailing her and observe her work
18. You realize that you should have learned to be more responsible as a kid
But it doesn’t matter because even though you learn the hard way, you eventually do become responsible
The greatest day in our life is when we take total responsibilities for our actions and attitude. That’s the day we truly grow up.
