Beijing Plans To Build 100 Toilets With Free Wifi Throughout City For “Toilet Revolution”

While you and I struggle to find phone network in the basement parking of our buildings, Beijing is going forward with their technology and planning to provide WiFi access in 100 toilets around the city this year.

Beijing Municipality plans to build the toilets this year that will not only have free WiFi access but also ATM machines and charging facilities for cell phones and electric vehicles.

Ji Yang, an official with the Beijing Municipal Commission of City Administration and Environment, confirmed that these toilets will be built in the districts of Tongzhou and Fangshan.

And that is not all. Baby seats will be installed next to the toilets so that mothers can free their hands.

The price of each of these is estimated to be between 50,000 to 100,000 yuan (₹5. 11 to 10.22lakhs)

Apart from building the WiFi toilets, the current toilets will also be upgraded with urinals for children and barrier-free facilities.

Their ventilation and air conditioning systems will also be upgraded to ensure a stable temperature of at least 12 degrees in winter and no more than 30 in summers.

Now you will be able to update your status while you pee when in China.
