Beggar Free Hyderabad: Reward Of ₹500 To Those Who Spot, Inform And Help Rescue A Beggar

What do you do when you spot a beggar? You either shell out some money out of your pocket or you choose to ignore them. Well, if you are in Telangana’s Hyderabad, you can now do this – inform the officials and get a reward of ₹500. Yes!

In order to make the city beggar free, Telangana Prisons Department has announced a reward scheme to shelter the beggars and drive the citizens to do so.

In a free conference, VK Singh, DG, Telangana Prisons Department announced that the department has started Vidyadanam Programme under which it would be providing education to the beggars.

“Whoever spots a beggar and informs us about it, we will give them a reward of ₹500. But in order to get the reward, you have to call the Prisons’ control room, and will have to wait at the spot till the time their rescue vehicle reaches them.”

He further said that,

“With the help of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and Police department, so, far 741 male beggars and 311 female beggars have been rescued from the roads. Right now we have 265 male beggars and 70 female beggars are present at out Anand Ashram.

They have a great objective in mind.

“Out of which, 476 male beggars and 241 female beggars have been released on personal undertaking not to resort to begging again.

Very soon we would provide place, where a beggar can stay with their family. Our objective is to provide wholesome life to the beggars and ensure that nobody is left on the street in our state.”

 

After rehabilitating Hyderabadi beggars, they plan to do so in other districts too and then send the proposal to Central government.

They started this on Christmas and plan to do this till the time there are no beggars on the streets. Now, this is a step toward the change we wanna see.
