In a shocking accident, a 28-year-old woman from Bathinda died in an amusement park after her hair got stuck in a wheel of the go-kart, which tore her scalp apart. She was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition but sadly, she was declared dead on arrival.

According to a report by NDTV, Puneet Kaur was on a vacation with her family, her husband and a two-year-old son. The family lives in Bathinda but they were on a holiday to Pinjore. On their way back, they decided to visit the amusement park near Yadavindra Gardens.

They booked 4 go-karts and Puneet was riding with her husband Amardeep Singh. Puneet and Amardeep were in the same kart while their son was taken care of by the grandmother.

They were on the verge of completing her first lap when Amardeep heard his wife screaming. Her hair had come out of the bun and got entangled in the rear wheel of the kart.

Haryana government has leased out the amusement park to a private contractor, Sushil Kumar. The incident occurred around 2 p.m but the police got a call at about 5:30 p.m. Puneet’s post-mortem reports are yet to come.

The SHO of Pinjore police said,

According to Hindustan Times, the manager of the park said that is was an accident, they usually ensure everyone is wearing all the necessary safety gears. He said,

“Usually all safety measures are followed. One person has been tasked with ensuring that all people wear proper head gear and follow other rules before using a go-kart. It is shocking this incident happened.”

Whether the incident was due to the lack of safety measures by the management authorities or a complete accident, we don’t know. But our hearts go out to the family going through this tough time.
