Bareilly Muslims Gave Food And Medical Aid To Kanwar Plirgrims Setting A Remarkable Example

Religions don’t divide us, ideologies do.

And for a person for whom humanity is the only ideology to adhere to, religion is merely chosen a way of living along with love.

The Muslim people of Bareilly set a similar example of simple humanity by providing the Kanwar yatra pilgrims who are Shiva devotees, with snacks in the same area where two years ago, communal unrest was seen during the same festival.

Saifi Samaj Shamli distributed snacks like bananas and biscuits to boost energy in the pilgrims and provided medical assistance when needed.

The organizing head, Shamim said,

“It a message to all those who tried to destroy peace and divide our society. We have come together to create space for each community living here. Celebrating each other’s festival with full fervour is an attempt towards this.”

Another campaign named ShoulderToShoulder Movement included people of all religions, a ‘universal brotherhood movement’  organized a drive where they served drinks to Kanwar’s at Delhi’s Kalkaji Temple.

They work with a belief that the goodness of people is in their hearts.
