Women’s safety is a grieving concern, not just in India but the all around the globe. A pressing problem, it is the social evil that plagues our society the most. While headlines of abuse and molestation (with not just women but small girls) never leave the news, my collective faith in the human race is dwindling.

However, amidst all the naysayers, Atif Aslam recently restored some of the hope when he stopped his performance midway and rescued a girl from being eve-teased at his concert. The Sufi singer was performing at the DHA sports club, Karachi when he snubbed the group of rowdy men saying,

“Tumne kabhi ladki nahi dekhi hai? Tumhari maa behen bhi ho sakti hai yahan par.“
