You can’t talk back to Amitabh Bachchan. Nobody can. Unless the topic is cricket, then even the youngest kid around the block can talk to Big B as an equal. Cricket has that effect on our country. Everyone’s an expert on it, and even Big B will not be spared for a wrong call on a wide ball!
During the latest match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Rising Pune Supergiant, Pune clinched victory in the dying minutes of the game. Pune bowled economically in the last leg of the game and won by 3 runs in the end.
Like any Indian cricket fanatic, Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter to point out an error by the umpire in the match, where he did not call a wide ball wide in the last over.
T 2504 – That was a wide ball in the last over, by miles !! Not giving it has cost MI the game .. !! AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH !!! pic.twitter.com/GHj5mRK2dY
— Amitabh Bachchan (@SrBachchan) April 24, 2017
And like always, he attached his own picture to the tweet and it had no relation to the tweet or its topic whatsoever.
If there’s anyone in India whose opinion about cricket is as important as Big B it’s friggin EVERYONE.
And that’s how they started schooling Amitabh Bachchan about that wide ball, his superstar status be damned! We are all cricket fans over here!
1. Woah, that’s one way to put the point across.
@SrBachchan LEARN CRICKET SIR. THAT WASN’T A WIDE BALL. ?
— ᏢᎪᎡᏙᎬᏚᎻ ? (@prvs8) April 24, 2017
2. Ahem.
@prvs8 @SrBachchan Watch the replay and be educational about the cricket rules
— bhargav chaudhari (@Bugs1586) April 24, 2017
3. A politically correct way to put it across.
@SrBachchan Sorry Mr #Bachchan you are an expert actor. I respect it, but not an #umpire on field. Respect it #MIvsPune #MIvRPS #ipl #VIVOIPL
— Vikant Sahay (@vikantsahay) April 24, 2017
4. A Puneri for sure.
@SrBachchan Hahaha! Don’t fret Sir! Pune deserved the win tonight! #MIvRPS
— Rajesh Kejriwal (@raj20k) April 24, 2017
5. A life lesson for Big B?
@SrBachchan Don’t be biased sir umpires were not against #MI ,hard luck but everyday is not goldenday #MIvRPS
— Shlok Agrawal (@agrawal_shlok) April 24, 2017
6. This is a good explanation why it was not a wide ball.
@SrBachchan No it wasn’t sir. When batsman moves in his crease, then ball can’t be given wide w. r. t. to the line. Very fare rule. #sportsmanship
— Harendra Bhadoria (@kkingofheartz) April 24, 2017
7. True.
@SrBachchan If he had not moved it was sure wide but not in this case
— arshad ahmed (@arshadnrml) April 24, 2017
8. Maybe.
@SrBachchan Sirji that wasn’t a wide ..mumbaikar so critical of the loss
— Avinash Kolla (@AVINASH1210) April 24, 2017
9. A fan who is trying really hard to sound polite.
@SrBachchan Sir u r Wrong ….That Wide Ball… Sir see again replay Rohit Sharma also moved too much towards Offside…..sorry sir.. Love u
— Amit Vijay Palav (@Amitpalav_AIC) April 24, 2017
10. Another valid argument.
@SrBachchan It was not wide as per cricket rules. Rohit Sharma crossed over towards off side of d wicket prior d ball was bowled
— Alok Kumar Chaudhury (@alok_chaudhury) April 25, 2017
11. Whew.
@SrBachchan Mr bachan. Learn the cricket rules and then talk.

As they say, cricket is a great leveller in India.
In front of a cricket match, every Indian is equal.
