This Delhi Advocate Was Beaten, Called A Slut By Neighbours And Choked Until She Fainted

Encroachment is a real problem in India. We can see it everywhere – be it public space or private. Hawkers occupy space illegally on footpaths, next door neighbour slyly shifts his fence a bit into your plot every year and so many more such cases.

The municipalities can do only so much in controlling it because they cannot just take a wrecking ball on a drive through a city every day. But law abiding citizens and lawyers do keep a keen eye on the encroachments in their area.

High court advocate, Anu Jain is one of those people.

She recently complained about encroachments into government property in her neighbourhood and the Delhi High Court gave an order to demolish them.

One of the illegal structures demolished was a staircase belonging to her neighbour Anju Devi. Taking offense, she attacked the advocate, beating her with sticks.

The neighbour Anju Devi is joined by her daughter in the assault. As you can see that the woman literally sits on the advocate while her daughter joins in the beating with two sticks.

 

The attack went on for more than two minutes where the neighbour choked the advocate until she literally lost consciousness. When she woke up, she was covered in cuts and bruises.

 

In this video, you can see how it all starts. The advocate is explaining how the neighbour calls her a ‘randi’ and the lady slowly sneaks behind her and takes her down holding her hair in a very brutal way.

 

In the next video, you can see the mother-daughter duo beating her long enough for her to faint.

The mother is so keen on beating the advocate up that her sari almost comes off. That’s some dedication to violence. The High Court advocate later complained to the police and they lodged a FIR against the violent duo.

Before this incident, the lawyer had repeatedly complained to the police of the encroachments, but to no avail. It is only after she took the matter to court, that action was taken.

Such barbaric behaviour is extremely unsettling and not justified even by any twisted logic.

Let’s hope the police put the violent neighbour in jail. Because in addition to her illegal encroachment, she seems to be a danger to the society too.
