ITI Aspirant Receives Admit Card With A Dog’s Photo On It. Accident Or Bad Joke?

Technology gave birth to internet to make lives easier by cutting down unnecessary time and introducing convenience to processes. But more often than not, people use internet for the sake of sheer recreation. Well nothing against that, is there? But the problem arises when recreation starts poking its fat nose into work.

Need an example to illustrate that? In a recent case in Midnapore in West Bengal, an 18 year old ITI aspirant, Soumyadip Mehto was taken aback when he downloaded his admit card for the ITI entrance examination from the official website and his admit card had the photo of a dog on it instead of his photo. All the details in the admit card including the address and date of birth belonged to Soumyadip. However, the admit card featured a picture of a Siberian husky dog instead of Soumyadip’s picture.

Soumyadip who has just completed his higher secondary, contacted the office in charge regarding the issue and he was assured that he will be issued a new admit card with the corrections. Later in the day he was provided a fresh admit card with his picture on it and he appeared for his Common Entrance Test (CET).

The nodal office in charge of this said that an inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
