If you’re up for a bit of action, something that keeps you guessing, then we have the best on-screen solution for you (if you get my drift). For all those times you wanted to see the good and bad guy in a fight and not be so damn obvious, turn to these!
1. Running Scared
One of the most popular choices on Quora and Reddit, this masterpiece has all the ingredients for a great movie night. It’s got a dash of mafia, a lot of chase scenes and shootouts!
2. Undisputed 2
Though this movie received lots of mixed reviews, it sort of took of as one of those films you’d watch at home. The second and third sequel has a better chance of giving you an action-packed punch (literally).
3. Satya
This is one of the most influential movies of Bollywood and must make it to your list for sure. It’s a war between two gangs and the story revolves around Mumbai. And the main character is basically every other man who comes to fulfil his dreams in Bombay, but gets caught up in the wrong crowd.
4. Die Hard
If you’ve seen Friends enough times, then you know how awesome Die Hard is. It’s about a heist in LA and the whole story is an adaptation of a novel. Also, this is where you meet Alan Rickman as Hans Gruber, and let me tell you, it was love at first sight.
5. Raid
It’s safe to say the whole story is about a raid by SWAT. The tension, gun violence, reunited estranged brothers and a machete gang are enough to set you spiralling into adrenaline mode.
6. Taken
This is the movie you shouldn’t let your parents watch. A trip to Paris turned into a kidnapping. The whole plot is the girl’s father trying to track her down and teach a nice lesson to the peeps who took her.
7. Baazigar
A Shahrukh Khan movie, so I’m hoping it’s sold you already. But no, it’s not the usual rom-com nonsense. His character is really well-written! A suicide, a psycho killer and lots of revenge, this one will make you wake up and smell the suspense.
8. Gupt
It’s all about the politics! It’s one hell of a web, with arranged marriages, corruption and so much drama. It’s the Indian maze of usual revenge, but it’s really awesome!
9. Ronin
You’re looking for car chases? You got them. It’s bunch of operatives guarding a briefcase and that too in Paris! It’s the tangle of Russian mob, mafia and smart plays.
10. Mad Max- Fury Road
This is the fourth edition to the Mad Max movies. In this movie, you see Max fleeing from the mob leader with Charlize Theron. It set after a holocaust (supposedly the end of the world that was to befall us in 2012), were there is no water, but apparently petrol still exists.
11. Gangs of Wasseypur
I loved this movie. The title is pretty self explanatory, it sort of revolves around some pretty legit history of Jharkhand. There’s drama, deceit and lots of action, in this very real bollywood flick.
12. Kill Bill
The Bride was a real terror, i think that’s where the word Bridezilla came from. She’s a trained assassin who slays everyone. I think this movie made me believe that women can be better assassins than men!
Which one is on your list this weekend?Â
