Allahabad HC Acquits Parents Rajesh And Nupur Talwar In Aarushi-Hemraj Murder Case

The Aarushi Talwar case took the nation by storm when 14-year-old Aarushi Talwar was found dead in her house with her throat slit in Noida, near Delhi in 2008. The initial suspect of the case was their domestic help Hemraj, whose dead body was then found at the terrace of the house, with his throat slit, after two days.

If you have been keeping up with the case, you would be well aware that the parents of the girl, Rajesh and Nupur Talwar were granted life imprisonment by a special CBI court after a probe submitted a report convicting Rajesh and Nupur Talwar of the double murder. They were also accused of misleading investigations and hiding evidence.

The verdict of the court on this case was awaited for a long time, with friends and relatives of the Talwars claiming their innocence. The Allahabad High Court in currently in session and has allowed the appeal of the Talwars, to challenge the verdict of the CBI court.

The court has acquitted the Talwars on benefit of doubt, as they were arrested on circumstantial evidence.
