12 Foreign TV Shows That Made Our Childhood Awesome

With the advent of colour TV and more channels to choose from, several foreign television shows made their entry into India. With their wit, humor, and vibrance, these shows became popular here as much as they were abroad. Not to mention how wonderful they made our childhood!

Here is the list of a few foreign TV shows we loved watching as children.

1. Small Wonder

How can we forget the adorable Vicki and the amazing Lawson family? Aired in India in 1994, Small Wonder made all of us, and even our parents, adore this cute robot child.

 

2. I Dream Of Jeannie

With Barbara Eden in her adorable character as the Jeanie, I Dream Of Jeanie was another show in the 90s that stole our hearts.

 

3. The 3 Stooges

Who can forget Moe, Curly, and Larry’s slapstick sense of humor? The Three Stooges. Absolute laugh riot.

 

4. Silver Spoons

Who can forget the insanely rich Ricky?

 

5. Bewitched

The life of a witch married to an ordinary man. Bewtiched truly had us bewitched too!

 

6. Dennis The Menace

The sitcom based on the comic strip, Dennis The Menace, this show was about the life of Dennis Mitchell, a young, mischievous lad, who often tangled with his neighbour, George Wilson, a retired salesman. We all felt bad when Dennis’ good intentions always ended up creating more of a rut. 🙁

 

7. Star Trek

The best sci-fi tv show ever.

 

8. Crystal Maze

The level of excitement while watching the contestants fight together to reach the final challenge in the centerpiece was crazy high. Crystal Maze was one of the best game shows ever!

 

9. Diff’rent Strokes

There is no description required for the wit, intelligence, and cuteness of little Arnold brought on to the show that we all grew to love so much. Diff’rent Strokes was indeed a wonderful show that also gave out serious messages from time to time.

 

10. Full House

Weren’t we all simply in love with the Tanners? With the stern yet affectionate daddy, Danny Tanner, with his lovely daughters, DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle, their loveable (and gorgeous) uncles Joey and Jesse, Full House was filled with oodles of laughter and love. Not to mention catchphrases by little Michelle. You got it, dude.

 

11. Legends Of The Hidden Temple

Another action and adventure game show that made us beam with excitement! Legends Of The Hidden Temple was fun, mysterious, and so much knowledge. It was so much fun to be a kid back then, don’t you think?

 

12. Batman

These two heroes fighting crime in Gotham City was pretty much the start of the love for superheroes for most of us. This dynamic duo was simply awesome, and made our childhood memorable and wonderful. 🙂
